The British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) are a not-for-profit trade organisation and is the UK’s leading general insurance intermediary organisation. BIBA already help with over 250,000 enquiries a year and have a signposting agreement with Government that helps older people with their “Find a Broker” service. This will direct clients to a broker that can find suitable insurance for their property at risk of flooding.
BIBA have over 100 specialist insurance broker members who can place insurance for properties at risk of flood and who also will do their best to highlight any resilience or resistance measures that have been undertaken with the Insurers to get the best terms and prices available. Some other member organisations, offer flood excess insurance solutions too.
The organisation have compiled their own flood guidance notes into a webpage for what to do in the event of a flood, as well as a downloadable guidance document on how to obtain flood insurance in high risk flood areas.
